Residence Permit in Turkey

A residence permit is a legal document that allows foreigners to stay in Turkey for more than three months. It is granted by the Ministry of Interior and Migration Management upon the request of the foreigner.
Types of Residence Permission in Turkey
All foreigners who want to stay in Turkey beyond their visa duration are required to apply for a short-term residence permit to make their stay legal. The short-term residence permit is valid for up to 1 to 2 years.
A short-term residence permit can be applied for one of these reasons:
- Scientific research
- For business purposes
- Participating in an in-service training program
- Educational purposes, such as student exchange programs, Erasmus programs, etc.
- Tourism
- Medical treatment provided that you are not a threat to public health
- Turkish language course
- Being a citizen of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus
